Psychology at Indigo
How does Indigo work?
Indigo is an organisation offering psychological help. At our sister site, Loudon Medical Centre you can see one of the psychologists. Indigo believes that people can do a lot themselves when it comes to taking control of your life again. Certainly if they can get help quickly. This prevents problems from getting worse. From Indigo, you can expect the following:
- Short-term help: all courses and treatments take place in a maximum of eight sessions;
- Stepped care: we always start with the minimal treatment. If further care is needed, we will see if Indigo can offer this or refer you to second-line care;
- No waiting lists: Indigo helps people address their mental problems in as early a stage as possible. The client can be treated in a maximum of 3 weeks;
- Referral: for a consultation with a healthcare provider, a referral from the GP is required. For a preventive care course or an information meeting, this is not always the case. Sometimes the client can log in him/herself, while sometimes a referral from the GP is mandatory.
Those treated by Indigo get – in the majority of cases- a personal page on the My Indigo website. Via My Indigo, the client is brought into contact with a health worker and fills in some questionnaires. These questionnaires form an essential part of Indigo’s method. The answers provide valuable information about the client’s complaints, about which help is required and about the progress of the treatment process. This method enables us to offer an even better service and to get the client the help that suits them as quickly as possible.
